I have completed the manuscript of And All Its Dark Places, a novel of upmarket women’s fiction featuring a multicultural, inter-generational trio of heroines on intersecting paths through tragedy. I am currently seeking publishing opportunities. I am also working on the manuscript of Rent Control, which takes the world’s oldest profession in a new direction.
My short-form writing has been featured in:
Grey Sparrow Journal: My short story “Origins” kicked off the short story section of Grey Sparrow’s Spring 2012 issue. “Origins” is a tale of a young Chinese-American mother navigating her own identity and struggling to trace the cultural thread that connects generations.
Instant City: My creative nonfiction piece “Ross Alley” was published in Issue Six. “Ross Alley” invites the reader into San Francisco Chinatown’s oldest alley, and into the heart of a famed Gold Rush-era Chinese prostitute.
Transfer: My short story “Beach Access” was published in Transfer 95. “Beach Access” follows Grace, a sixteen-year-old wedged into a life of responsibility and want, as she angles for some measure of control.
“Origins” has received an Honorable Mention, and my story “Family Resemblance” placed in the Top 25 of Glimmer Train‘s Family Matters writing contest.
